The Scugog Shores Historical Museum requires Curator/Director.

Our museum is located on Scugog Island overlooking the town of Port
Perry, Ontario, Canada. Scugog Shores Historical Museum preserves and
presents the heritage of Scugog Township, located 1 1/2 north east of
Toronto. Ten authentically restored buildings in a peaceful, rural
setting are furnished to reflect the mid-nineteenth Century. Displays
recreate the lifestyles, commerce and industry of the period. The
museum is a vital part of our community.

Currently we are looking for an individual to fill the position of
Curator/Director.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Curator/Director is responsible
for the preservation of the collection and buildings as well as the day
to day operation and management of the facility.

Our facility operates year round and hosts several special events during
the summer/fall season.

We are looking for an individual with a related academic degree or
diploma and relevant work experience. The succesful candidate will
posses exceptional writing, interpersonal, management and public
relations skills to administer the museum.

This is a contractual position based on the municipality's fiscal
(calendar) year.

If you would like to apply for this challenging position, please reply
in writing by July 31, 1998 to:
