The Scugog Shores Historical Museum requires Curator/Director. Our museum is located on Scugog Island overlooking the town of Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. Scugog Shores Historical Museum preserves and presents the heritage of Scugog Township, located 1 1/2 north east of Toronto. Ten authentically restored buildings in a peaceful, rural setting are furnished to reflect the mid-nineteenth Century. Displays recreate the lifestyles, commerce and industry of the period. The museum is a vital part of our community. Currently we are looking for an individual to fill the position of Curator/Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Curator/Director is responsible for the preservation of the collection and buildings as well as the day to day operation and management of the facility. Our facility operates year round and hosts several special events during the summer/fall season. We are looking for an individual with a related academic degree or diploma and relevant work experience. The succesful candidate will posses exceptional writing, interpersonal, management and public relations skills to administer the museum. This is a contractual position based on the municipality's fiscal (calendar) year.
