The National Trust letter to Disney that ran in the May 2 Washington Post
gives the following address to write to for information on what you can do
to protect the Haymarket, VA area:

National Trust for Historic Preservation
1785 Massachusetts Avenue, NW

Dept. C
Washington, DC 20036

The following organizations were listed as supporting the National Trust
message in opposing the decision to site the Disney "history" theme park
in Haymarket. You can also try contacting them. Has anyone heard anything
through the historic preservation lists?

Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation
America the Beautiful Fund
Arlington Heritage Alliance, Inc.
Chesapeake Bay Foundation
Countryside Institute
Izaak Walton League of America
National Alliance of Preservation Commissions
National Alliance of Statewide Preservation Organizations
National Audubon Society
National Council for Preservation Education.
National Council for Preservation Executives
National Growth Management Leadership Project
National Parks and Conservation Association
Natural Resources Defense Council
Preservation Alliance of Virginia
Scenic America
Sierra Club
Sierra Club Legal Defense Club, Inc.
Society for American Archaeology < Carol Ely: If you're in C'ville, you
Society for Historical Archaeology < might try calling U.Va. archaeologists,
Waterford Foundation maybe Jeff Hantman, or people at
The Wilderness Society. Monticello, possibly Bill Kelso?

There are also grassroots/community orgs. in the Haymarket/Manassas area
that have been working against the Disney plans. I will try to find more
specific info on them and post them to the list.
