From 1996 to 1999 I was the Curator of Exhibitions and Programs at the Yale University Art Museum. I focused much of my energy on intiating interdisciplinary programming. Among my most successful projects was "Artists on Art", a series of informal lectures by faculty who make art, and teach in 8 disciplines in the Departments of English, Music, Graphic Design, Architecture, Drama, and Art. Each faculty member was asked to comment on a work of art in the permanent collection and refer to the ways the selection relates to their own creative expression. The lectures were very popular and led to a publication of the same name based on transcribed excerpts from the talks.

Hello--
I am working on a presentation to University faculty about
Museum/Faculty collaborations at a University Museum--anything from
classes taught at the museum, to student assignments to exhibitions.
I'm using examples from my own institution throughout, but want to
include examples from other places. There was a great conference at
the Tang that covered some of this as well.
Does anyone have any examples they'd be interested in sharing?
Anything--from a brief description to an article to a link to a
website--is appreciated. And it does not always have to be positive!
Thanks!
