Dear Friends:

The Archaeological Institute of America, San Diego and Travel With the
Experts, Ltd. are pleased to announce three exciting new study tours for
2003 in the World Archaeology Study Series. These tours are intended
for small and select groups of experienced and seasoned travelers who
look to go beynd the ordinary, to go off the beaten path to sights
seldom seen and sites rarely explored. We will go beyond the scenes,
through alleyways and jungles to explore the archaeologic allegacy of
each country.

In addition to our resident escort, Ron Fellows, CM, Associate Director
of the Heritage of the Americas Museum, and Director of
AncientEmpires.org, we are accompanied by licensed English speaking
local guides whose mandate is to explain all dimensions of the country,
but concentrating on it's archaeological features.

Individuat tours are open to all who want to further their knowledge and
understanding of early cultures. For pictorial itineraries please see:
http://www.AncientEmpires.org

The 2003 tours include the following:

Thailand and Angkor Wat - March 10-22, 2003 Experience ten glorious
days in sunny Thailand from the bustle of cosmopolitan Bangkok to the
lush mountain terrain of Chaing Mai and Chaing Rai where the traditions
of the primative tribes of the hill country have remained unchanged
through the millennea. Visit the Emerald Buddha, the floating market,
and the ruins of ancient Siam.
Angkor Wat - Four night optional extension - March 22-26, 2003 Angkor
Wat: the unseen, the mysterious, remote and forbidding. The Lost City
of Cambodia. It is now possible to visit this site of ancient ruins all
but consumed by the jungle.

Crete and Athens - May 21-June 1, 2003 Homer tells us of the wealth and
beauty of Bronze Age Crete, the center of Minoan Civilization, the stuff
of legends. Learn about the people who lived here, their customs, their
religion, and their lifestyle. See Cretian archaeological treasures as
we explore the Museum of Hieraklion, Khano, Dreros,Gortyn, and the
magnificent palace of Minos at Knosos.
Athens - Four night optional extension - June 1-5, 2003 Long before
Rome, Athens was, and remains Eternal. Experience the newly expanded
Benaki Museum, the splendid collections at the Goulandris, and yes, the
Acropolis - this is Athens.

Turkey - November 16-29, 2003 The cradle of civilization; crossroads
of East and West; and terminus ofthe Great Silk Road - the land is
described as a great outdoor museum. From its Bronze Age settlements
through the Hittites, Greeks, Romans, Seljuks, Ottomans - they all left
their mark. In addition to the incomparable archaeological sites, the
wonders of Hattusas, the fairy chimneys of Cappadocoia, the temples of
Aphrodite and Appolo, and the shimmering pools of Pamukkal - there
remains the wonders of Istanbul: the Topkapi Museum and Hareem, the
