Subject: Re: Source of (supposed) Plato quotation?

Many thanks to all who responded to this inquiry.

After further research, I am indeed confirming the quotation to be
falsely attributed to Plato . . . a fine example of "urban legend,"
"techno-myth" or (a term contributed by Stephen Van Buren) "creative
non-fiction."

As if it's possible, I hope to contact all the web sites with this
quotation and suggest they rethink the attribution - or else provide a
specific reference. (I'll have better luck trying to bring Plato back
from the afterlife. LOL!)

Best wishes, all,
