Hi,

Depending on where you are located, there are regional organizations that often sponsor (paid or unpaid) workshops on grant-writing. In the mid-Atlantic area, the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) has a workshop in which you brainstorm a (fictional or potential) grant. There is also the Foundation Center (foundationcenter.org) that has massive amounts of information regarding funders, funding and grant-seeking. There is a webinar this afternoon (2 pm ET, I think) about managing grant proposal budgets - free. I'm copying the link below.

Check with your regional heritage organization (NEDCC, CCAHA, etc.) and see what they have available. It's always good to add to your skill set!

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Grant Writing Workshops

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to take a grant writing workshop or a grant writing course. The problem I have is that I am not working at an institution that needs grants and so I need a workshop or a course that can teach me basic techniques without requiring me to have one to work on at the time I take the course.

I am trying to enhance my museum skills and this is one area I am lacking. Are there courses and/or workshops that can teach grant writing without working on one for your institution?
Thanks,
T.Ann
