The Saint Louis art museum has extensive collection in African, Oceanic and
Precolumbian and native american art, and is seeking an assistant curator
with a background in oceanic or native american art. A bachelor's degree is
required, mater's degree is desirable. Fluency in at least one language
relating to a specific collection may also be needed.  Individual will
assist the curator in researching, cataloging, documenting, developing,
caring for, interpreting and exhibiting collections. Under supervision, the
assistant curator organizes exhibitions of varying sizes,develops contacts
with donors in the community and seeks objects for acquisition. The
assistant curator is encouraged to continue his/her professional
development through research, publications, lecturing and maintaining the
museum's commitment to work of living artists. Application deadline is
