The most comprehensive international listing is that on the Virtual
Library Museum Pages established more than five years ago by Jonathan
Bowen, then of Oxford University, England, and hosted since 1996 by the
International Council of Museums (ICOM): http://www.icom.org/vlmp/

The quality and comprehensiveness of coverage and speed of adding new
museum sites varies considerably according to the level and kind of
support in each of the countries covered, and of course to a considerable
extent on notifications from museums establishing new sites.
