Dear Listers - 
Can anyone speak to exhibitions committees that include external (not museum employees) committee members who help develop exhibition concepts from an in-house collection?

Some questions I'm interested in:

What is the make up of your exhibitions committee?  How many people and which stakeholders do they represent?

How does the committee gain access to and knowledge of your collections?

What are the parameters of their involvement?  Are they largely advisory?
