The odd thing about museum work is that it is one of the few fields in
the federal payscale system that pays better than the private sector.

An increase in the minimum wage will not boost salaries of full-time
staff.   As long as arts and humanities institution's struggle for
solvency, which is a given, salaries for qualified, highly educated
employees will remain on the low side of the scale.
