Announcement of The John Burroughs 1997 Outstanding Natural History Essay
Award, The John Burroughs 1997 List Of Nature Books For Young Readers, and
the John Burroughs 1998 Medal Award.

John Alcock is this year's medal recipient for "In A Desert Garden: Love &
Death Among The Insects."

Dr. Francois Vuilleumier, Department of Ornithology at the American Museum
of Natural History will review "In A Desert Garden" at the luncheon.
