Pay Grade/Pay Range: 55 Hourly (non-exempt) - Minimum - $ 12.42 Midpoint - $ 16.52


Job Summary: The Museum Collections Technician is responsible for functions primarily in the area of museum collections, computer based data entry, maintain inventory, storage locations, preservation relating to collections, exhibit planning and assistance, and implementation of management and federal curation policies.


Additional Department Summary: This position is a non-routine position. The individual in this position must be able to communicate effectively in person and by correspondence on a variety of topics. The incumbent must be able to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and three years of experience in collections care and/or management.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Valid U.S. driver's license.  Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.


Skills and Knowledge: Effective organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Problem solving skills. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs to include database management. Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver the materials and supplies of the job.


Preferred Qualifications: A degree in museum studies, library science, history, anthropology, geology, biology, or other sciences is preferred.
