Collections Specialist





Responsible for the care, conservation, and documentation of the museum’s extensive collection of art, objects, and archives related to artist/naturalist John James Audubon and the American conservation movement he inspired.  Maintains electronic and manual collection records. Processes loans and exhibition records. Oversees crating, shipping, and storage of artworks. Supervises the movement of all objects within the museum; Prepares condition reports and conducts inventories. Plays an important role in developing, designing, and installing exhibits. Qualification: Bachelors degree in museum studies or related field (Masters preferred). Previous experience working with collections in a museum or similar setting. 



 



Center Associate



 



Responsible for coordinating public events, rentals and other special activities at the site. Assists with developing public relations and marketing strategies to increase the Center’s visibility locally and nationally. Provides support for Center administration. Qualification: Bachelors degree marketing, public relations or related fields. Superior written and verbal communications skills. Two to five years of related work experience.

Mill Grove, the first home in America of artist/naturalist John James Audubon, is designated as national historic landmark and houses one of the largest collections of Audubon art and artifacts. The Center is part of National Audubon Society’s family of community-based nature centers. Candidates must be committed to Audubon's mission to protect birds and habitats. Salary range for both positions listed above is $24,000 to $26,000.
