I have to agree with Bob Rogers. If you think there is noise now, I'm afraid
of what a newsgroup would invite. Flame wars here are kept to mere tinder
compared to the forest fires burning up the net. If we go to a newsgroup we
should be moderated, and I wonder if Mr. Chadwick has time for that? It's not
a big deal (for me) to delete my mail, I anticipate that I would have to quit
my internet connection if we go newsgroup. I enjoy my daily time deleteing
Museum-L stuff, I doubt I would have time to navigate the news as regularly, so
in a sense I feel I'm the one losing. I have found this group to be extremely
useful, knowing that my collegues and peers are nanoseconds away. I have
learned a great deal posting to and monitoring this group. Although I accept
that change is the norm, do we have to change the chemistry of this group by
making it a public access forum?
