I had always thought of it as the "Mighty Mississippi" until just last
month when my husband and I (and our dog) went to northern Minnesota on
our honeymoon.  We visited Itasca State Park and saw the headwaters. Such
a little stream!  Since it was mid-August, the place was full of
families--little tykes running back and forth across the water.  It's
been fun to say to people: "Our dog drank of the waters of the
Mississippi River!"
