Mountain-Plains Museums Association's 2009 Conference
CALL FOR PROPOSALS - EXTENDED
to February 13th
WORKSHOPS AND SESSIONS
October 5-9, 2009 in Cheyenne, Wyoming

You asked for more time, so we responded!

We have also made MPMA's Conference VERY affordable.
    * Hotel rates are low ($74)
    *   Gas prices are down
    * We are rolling back prices for registration and exhibitors
    * Cheyenne is one hour north of Denver. It is easy to get to by car or
air.
    * Denver is an airport hub, so airfare should be lower.

Conference Theme: New West Solutions in Old West Settings

5. 2009 Conference Theme: New West Solutions in Old West Settings.
Cheyenne, Wyoming, occupies a special place in the legendary old west. At
the same time, it manifests the spirit of the new west where generating
solutions for modern world concerns are met with perspectives as wide-open as the
plains. "New West Solutions in Old West Settings" evokes both the essence of
conference host city Cheyenne and invites reflection on the theme of innovative
responses to such age-old museum concerns as economic survival, preservation of
what is valued in the cultural and natural environment, and handing over the
reins to the next generation of leaders, scholars, and practitioners. Session
proposals relating to the conference theme and which focus on successful
solutions are warmly welcomed, as are proposals relating to any other expedient
museum issues connected with challenge, response, and change.
