At the Center for Western Studies, I use Dropbox. It was recommended to us by our college IT department. I have used it with researchers of various technical abilities and haven't had any issues yet.

Dear Listers,
Happy New Year! To cut to the chase, here at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. we deliver digital scans of our photo collection for our researchers and we currently use a service called Hightail (formerly YouSendIt) but I have been receiving complaints that researchers can't download what they've ordered in addition to having to join Hightail to download the images (which many do not want to do).

Does anyone have any recommendations on an alternative, free, service (that you don't have to joing to download)? I've heard DropBox is good but have not used it much myself and was wondering what everyone else was doing.

Thank you very much for any feedback; I do appreciate it!

Best,

Laura
