Collections Manager/Registrar
The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust based in Oak Park, IL,
operates two historic landmarks as house museums and is widely respected
as a leader in the restoration and preservation of historic sites. Other
activities include a retail division, educational programs and research
center.
DUTIES: Full-time professional needed to oversee the care and
preservation of the museum collections, including storage, registration,
the conversion of paper records into the collections management
database, digital imaging, and outgoing loans. Train and supervise
collections and registration staff, interns and volunteers. Develop and
monitor budget expenditures.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Arts in art or architectural history,
historic preservation or museum studies. Master's Degree preferred.
Five years of professional experience with responsibility for museum
registration, object care and preservation, and loans, with command of
AAM collections management standards. Proficiency with collections
management databases (Past Perfect data experience a plus), and basic
office software. Familiarity and interest in emerging digital
technologies. Demonstrated project management skills. Must have
supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively as part
of a skilled team.
