I really love PS 1 in Queens. I feel like it is the one place with truly
fresh art still being show cased. Also, don't be put off by the Queens
location. It is only a few stops over the bridge and worth the easy subway
ride.

I also like the New Museum (I think that's what it's called) in Soho. It is
on Broadway between Prince and Houston and often has great shows.

Being a native New Yorker, I never miss the Met when I go home. I feel it's
still worth it despite the crowds.
