Games are an inseparable part of everyday American Life.
As participants and spectators, most of us are engaged in contests from a very early age.

Asian Games: The Art of Contest, an NEH on the Road exhibition currently traveling with ExhibitsUSA, highlights the origin and history of games (chess, backgammon, games using playing cards etc.) that are played worldwide.

This 5-week exhibition travels with 12 historic and contemporary examples of games and 2 hands-on game tables, as well as photo panels reproducing historic paintings and drawings depicting game playing. Approximately 2,000 square feet is required for this exhibition. Extensive educational programming materials as well as text panels and object labels travel with this exhibition.

A $1,000 shipping subsidy as well as rental fee reductions are available for the following date: July 5-August 16, 2006.

More information can be found at: <http://www.nehontheroad.org/> www.nehontheroad.org.

This program is application-based and first-come, first-served. If you would like to place a hold on this date or if you would like additional information on this exhibition, please contact Molly Alspaugh at 816/421-1388 ext. 209 or [log in to unmask]
