Update
New Archivist, Web Specialist and Curator at the Royal BC Museum
VICTORIA, BC - Summer always brings more visitors to the museum, but this year it also brings three new museum staff.
Archivist Raymond Frogner builds on an extensive career at the University of Alberta. Raymond will be applying his considerable skills to appraising, arranging and describing records in the BC Archives collections, making more material available to the public.
Eric Espig, Web Specialist and Content Developer, came from Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum, Ottawa. Eric's experience in exhibit and program design and creating video tours for smartphones - as well as his social tech interests - are a good fit for this newly created position.
Curator of History, Dr. Tzu-I Chung, arrives on August 15. She received her doctorate from the University of Arizona, then taught as well as conducted and published her research at several universities. Dr. Chung's work crosses the fields of Cultural Studies, History, English and Ethnic Studies. Her experience in community outreach, primarily with Spanish-speaking groups, and her own cross-cultural and multi-lingual background will be invaluable in representing BC's changing cultural landscape.
