Has anyone made the switch over from site-based, traditional server
technology to a cloud computing model? What have you heard/experienced with
the web-based DonorPerfect?

My small Foundation (that supports a state museum) is looking into the
possibility of Google hosting our e-mail and shared/off-site storage and
backups as we switch over from using the state's computers to getting a new
computer system of our own. The only snag I see is that we currently use
Access for our donor database and we would have to pay extra to have Access
hosted by another server rather than Google (since there is not currently a
Google App for Access), but we are planning to upgrade to real donor
software soon so maybe a web-based donor software package would make sense
as well. We hadn't seriously been considering the web-based version of
DonorPerfect. The consultant I met with today pushed the fact that Google
would love to work with more nonprofits to reduce our infrastructure
costs. Any suggestions or pros/cons that you have experienced with either
cloud computing for nonprofits or with the web-based DonorPerfect?

Thanks!
