This doesn't necessarily guard against pests... I've personally seen
instances where a mouse has chewed though a heavy plastic container to
get at freeze dried and vacuum sealed astronaut dinners.

Any chance you could vacuum pack them?

Any conservators?

I figure vacuum packing would:

*	not damage the chocolate coins or their wrappers (if done
carefully);
*	delay degradation;
*	keep them isolated from other items in your collection; and,
*	allow for display in a limited light/heat display (if ever it's
necessary).

(The personally curious . . .)

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Chocolate coins

Good morning all -

I was recently gifted with four metal-foil wrapped chocolate coins
relating to the sesquicentennial of museum/archives parent organization.
All of the wrappers are intact, although one is starting to peel on an
edge. I'm sure its been discussed before, but would anyone have any
suggestions regarding storing these coins in the collection and if it
would be advisable in the first place?

Many thanks -
Kathleen
