Please reply to the list. I am in a similar situation as Anne (lots of collections management experience, but fairly new to historic houses and their maintenance) and such a course would be a huge help to me in my current position. I, however, would be looking for something out west.

Thanks,
Keni

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Course Sought - Historic House Preservation/Maintenance
To: [log in to unmask]

Hello - I am looking for options for a short
hands-on (1-2 weeks max), or a really good online course in preservation and maintenance
of historic houses, especially something dealing with Colonial American stone
and wood structures. I am located in North Carolina, so something east of the
Mississippi would be best. I am not trained in conservation but have had
considerable collections management experience, so something beyond rank
beginner level would benefit me most. If you know of such courses, particularly
something that might be available next year, I would really appreciate hearing
from you.

With thanks, as always,

Anne
