Mr. Neylon may have gone too far in his comments, but to be fair, I would
add that it seems as if Mr. Burlakoff has an axe to grind as well, or at
least, that's the impression I get from the postings of his that I've read
since joining the list.

I would also add that, although I don't agree with Mr. Neylon's name-calling
tactics, I've enjoyed being able to read an alternate point of view. Mr.
Burlakoff is quite free with his opinion on the war and the Bush
administration, and it's nice to see some balance on the message list.

I agree with Jenny Rebecca Martin on the finger-pointing and name-calling,
and that private correspondence does need to stay private. I feel like
quoting my mother at this point: I don't care who started it, you're both
in trouble.

I'm sure I'll get a bunch of angry replies for having posted this, but so be
it.

Yes, it seemed from his immediate and charged response to the initial
query that Mr. Neylon has a specific axe to grind.

Obviously, he feels that _anything_ that calls the US government into
question is 'whacko', which of course, is the standard excuse given
these days from Bush, Rumsfeld, et al. with their rather narrow view of
the world. It is also clearly the mode of thinking that rationalized
committing the atrocities at Abu Ghraib, and elsewhere.

We are not so far from 1940 as one might think.
