Hello--

I'm currently a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine, working with museums on a wide
variety of issues--and one has come up that I need some help with from
colleagues at natural history museums as the topic falls far outside my own
expertise. One natural history museum here is considering having live
specimens (of the small variety) as a part of their programs/exhibits. I'd
love to hear from people who work with touch tanks or live animals in museum
(not zoos or aquariums) settings. Are there set guidelines for such
activities? Pitfalls? Resources for more information?

Thanks so much for your help--and if you're interested, you can read about
my time in Ukraine at my blog, The Uncataloged
Museum.<http://uncatalogedmuseum.blogspot.com>

Linda
