I'm trying to pull together some information for a small museum/gallery
that already runs a successful museum shop but would like to expand to
include online sales. There's plenty of information available to help small
businesses get started with e-commerce, but not much that is specific for
museums.

Do members of this list have experiences to share about how they have gone
about this: use a commercial service like Volusion, Google, Yahoo, eBay,
etc.; build it yourself using commercial or open-source software; just add
PayPal enabled pages to your own website?

I've searched this list back for several years, and there doesn't seem to
have been much discussion of this topic.
