Beth,
The Cincinnati Museum of Natural History has molds for sculpted models of
a passenger pigeon (one standing & one in-flight pose). The models were
originally used in their traveling exhibit "Weakening Web: the Story of
Extinction." Contact Chris Novy at CMNH.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Searching for a Passenger Pigeon
Sent by: Museum discussion list <[log in to unmask]>
Hello all!
Our museum is looking for another institution that would be willing to
loan us a taxidermy passenger pigeon for our upcoming exhibition
commemorating their extinction (using panels provided by Project Passenger
Pigeon - http://passengerpigeon.org/index.html ). We understand this is a
long shot as many museums are hosting exhibitions on this topic but hope
someone out there would be willing to help. We will have the exhibition on
display from May 31st until the end of October but would be very willing
to accept a loan for a shorter period, even just for our busiest month of
July. Please get in touch with us if you are able to help in any way!
Thanks so much,
Beth Sylak
