Museums for nearly 30 years and for most of that period wages for
professional workers in small and medium museums have been roughly equal
to high school teachers..  Ten years or so ago a gap, with teachers making
more money, started to open and has been growing ever since.  This is esp.
true for folks ten years or so into their careers.
