Hi,
I was out searching for other info and found a program at the Kauffman Museum that may be what you are looking for.
"Ooh, Ah! Fantastic Exhibit Design" What goes on behind the scenes to create a museum exhibit? Campers will experience the complete exhibit process by developing an exhibit model. Through individual and group problem-solving, this camp will cover graphic design and typography, three-dimensional design, artifact care, and exhibit installation. The intergenerational exhibit currently in development, K is for Kansas, will serve as a resource."
I am also a Girl Scout leader and am doing the museum interest patch with our cadette scouts- it's very interesting- and they seem to be having fun

Subject: Teaching kids about museums
I am developing a program for kids to educate them about the role of a curator and how museums do what they do - collect, identify, interpret. Has anyone done this sort of thing before? I have some preliminary ideas about how to go about it, but would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Tricia
