It's not at all clear what kinds of programs you're looking for--what time
period, what style, how long/complex, what you're trying to illustrate.
However, there are all sorts of Americana crafts that can be done. Quilting
and lace making come immediately to mind, since they're crafts dear to my
heart. Also soap-making, spinning, canning/preserving, tinwork, leather
work. These are all things that can be done by teens, and many of them end
with something to take home.

Our goal is to expand our education department's programs beyond the Pioneer
Chores unit (it's an oldy but a goody) designed for young children. We have
since developed several interesting things for younger children as well as
programs for adults, which we have had good feedback on. Our current
challege is to find something that will interest Middle & High School
Students. We are especially interested in craft type activities. Much of
the stuff out there is geard towards younger children. Can anyone help me?
