JOB ANNOUCEMENT

ENTRY LEVEL-REGISTRARIAL ASSISTANT- EXHIBITIONS
		Regular Full time position

Reports to the Registrar and Associate Registrar for Exhibitions.

Assists the Associate and Assistant Registrar for exhibitions in the
coordination of shipping and packing of artworks, locally, nationally and
internationally for exhibitions; processing of loan contacts, generating
crate lists, condition reporting and working with couriers. Communicates
with other venues the logistics for the safe transport of the exhibitions.
Assists with compiling information for U.S. Federal indemnity and Immunity
from Seizure applications. Responsible for the management and coordination
of smaller in-house exhibitions.  Assists in the development of the
Registrar's budgets by obtaining information from lenders, vendors for cost
estimates. Updates the Registrarial exhibitions information on the MIMSY
database system and writes internal reports for the Registrar's office.
Researches and responds to information requests from the public and other
institutions regarding museum exhibitions. Upon occasion, this person may
courier artworks, provide airport supervision, accompany local pick-ups and
deliveries of exhibition loans when needed and other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

---Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Museum Studies, Art
History, Anthropology, History or related museum experience

---Knowledge of Registrar Office procedures, condition reporting, loan
contract processing, exhibition   
shipping recommended strong organizational and communication skills.

---Able to do multiple activities, set priorities, take instruction and be
able to work independently on a variety of projects.

---Must exercise sound judgment and discretion in the handling of
confidential matters.

---Work under pressure, team oriented, pitch in where needed on a very busy
exhibition schedule of a large institution..
