I will be using a series of tactile, embossed paper maps and
illustrations in an exhibit about blindness education. They date to the
late 19th century. I need to make tactile reproductions for these so
that they are accessible to blind people. They are too fragile, and the
relief is to high to reproduce them using the thermoform process.
Making a mold to cast them in fiberglas requires a seperator that would
damage the paper surface. I feel certain that there is a way to make a
reproduction without damaging the artifact & hope someone on the list
can help. Thanks
