Hi. This isn't an exact answer to your question, but each program has its own "flavor" and will prepare you to do different kinds of work. For example, Leicester is focused on social justice, and grads of that program have read theory and practiced developing programs and exhibits that address questions related to the big theme of justice. If you hope to do engaged work like this when you graduate then this and similar US programs are best for you. Other programs in the EU and US are more traditional and don't address sociocultural questions as primary concerns. It's important, in other words, to understand the emphasis differences between programs. Last, networking is critical to job finding in any field, and a good way to do this is by being active with professional associations. I think all museum studies students should join the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and one of its international committees related to their focus area (education, collections, ethnography, etc), and find some local and national conferences to attend, too. You'll meet lots of people that way. All these orgs have scholarships and wven grants for study (ICOM), for ex.). Good luck! Therese

For example, would I be at a disadvantage in getting hired if I got my masters from the University of Leicester rather than from an American one like Johns Hopkins (I use these two as the examples because they are both online programs).
