I stole this line from an episode of NBC's "Friends"

"That may be true in a perfect world...but you ain't in a perfect world now...you in a Museum!"

Great episode...all about museum life...about lab coats not sitting with tour jackets and God forbid not the gift shop!

It's really about identifing clothing...saw it at a time when our museum(NYS Museum..Albany NY) was dealing with uniforms.

You can credit me with the theft...this topic greatly interests me.

I keep telling people I keep working at this low salary because I just can't leave the incredible sitcom that this place(I'm sure all museums)is.

When you take curators, designers, administrators, gaurds, cleaners, teachers and the public and mash them together it's a blast.

I can't believe the things I her people say!

If I could write this sitcom I would be rich!

We are a cool Museum by the way!

Thanks!

Dr. Annie Storr and I are going to be conducting a short poster session
regarding humor in museums and its effects on museum professionals. This
serious study needs your input.

What is the best joke/one-liner/short anecdote about museums or museum
people you've heard?

As a side note: let me know if I can post it and credit you on on the
museum humor section of my website...I had intended a rich resource on
humor and museums and all that is there is a gaping hole in cyberspace....
