EXHIBIT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Corpus Christi, Texas (
ccmuseum.com)
Exempt Full-Time

Exhibit Development Manager is responsible for developing and managing
innovative exhibits and experience development, as well as revisions or
additions to existing exhibitions.  Serve as the lead developer for
exhibits for CCMSH from concept through installation, including core and
temporary galleries.


Responsibilities include research, writing the exhibition script and
storyline, labels, interactive design and prototyping, exhibit layout and
design, schematics, final design, production, installation, and management
of the project budget and schedule.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves as primary researcher for the development of exhibit topics in
science and history, and is familiar with scholarly research standards.
• Develops and writes conceptual documents, scripts, storyline, labels and
does interactive prototyping.
• Work collaboratively with Executive Director, Education Director,
Collections Manager and other staff to develop, design, produce and install
exhibits.
• Serves as Project Manager for exhibit development, including oversight of
project budget and schedules.
• Coordinate work within exhibits department, including use of interns and
volunteers.
• Integrate both interactivity and artifacts into exhibitions, bringing
science and history to visitors of all ages.
• Remain current in informal education methodology and best practices in
exhibit design, including the Standards for Accessible Design.
• Other duties as assigned.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Proven knowledge of best practices in exhibit design, curation and
evaluation
• Proven ability to manage and work within a team environment
• Technical competence using computer applications and communicating
digitally
• Skilled use of Adobe programs and Google SketchUp or like program
preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and command of the
English language.
• Demonstrated success in managing the experience design process, meeting
deadlines on time and within budget while creating creative and innovative
exhibitions.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree.  Employee must have
good organizational, interpersonal, writing, editing, budgeting and verbal
communication skills. They must work well under deadlines and manage
multiple projects concurrently.
