Full-Time Position Available
Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

Job Summary
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the successful
operation of the loading dock(s) and the control of materials entering the
dock.  Primary emphasis is on delivery in a professional, competent, timely
and courteous fashion, while ensuring safety and security. The rigorous
operation and control of this function are critical to the efficient and
orderly operation of all The Tech’s departments. The Shipping/Receiving
Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Facilities
Manager.

Responsibilities:
·Operate the loading dock(s); coordinate any remote shipping and receiving. 
·Prepare and maintain records of all transactions on an inventory control
data base.
·Handle all paperwork for shipments in and out.  Distribute copies as
necessary.
·Post weights and shipping charges and assure preparation of materials for
final shipment.
·Contact departments regarding arrivals, follow up on requests, deliver
prompt and courteous service.
·Receive goods against a packing slip/purchase order, verifying identity,
quantity and condition of goods.
·File damage reports and insurance claims as needed.
·Operate forklift, truck, pallet jack and other material handling equipment,
·Perform physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and
distribution of materials.
·Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
.Maintain excellent working and collaborative relationships with colleagues
and other departments.
·Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
·Minimum one year shipping & receiving or warehousing experience.
·Computer literate.
·Knowledge of shipping environment including regulations, carriers,
import/export, hazmat, etc.
·Familiarity with bar coding systems.
·Able to prioritize and handle multiple demands during busy times.
·Valid California Drivers License. Good driving record. 

Physical Demands:
·Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
·Ability to lift and handle heavy and/or awkward objects, climb ladders,
reach overhead.
·Ability to climb stairs, walk, stand, stretch, bend, turn.
