Hi

I have been using PastPerfect at three institutions I have been involved with
over the past 5 years - a history museum, a historic house museum, and a
regional archives. I think it is excellent value for the money and version 3.5 (I
have the manual but not the upgrade as yet) looks like it addresses the
issues I have had with earlier versions (I signed on with 2.0 if memory serves)

Based on budget, we started with the basic package and a few extras and then
went on to add features as the budget allowed year-to-year at the history
museum. It has been great with getting up an running on our database projects and
with the addition of an middling digital camera and scanner we have made
great inroad into the collections documentation with student and volunteer
assistance. Our collection is diverse ranging from fine art to archaeological
materials, an archives, and a library. PastPerfect has managed to handle it all
within the basic package without custom fields to date.

Best of luck with your project,

David Voelkel
