On 8/15 John C. Lewandowki wrote... (regarding starting a new museum)...

"...I was looking for a source (book, article, or even a personal interview)
of someone who has started a museum from scratch: from idea to opening
day. I know it can be done with a little work, however I was looking to
avoid any pitfalls that others may have faced...."

Get serious, John.

AAM, ASTC, and AYM all have published many detailed, thoughtful books and
articles in their journals over the past years. Many issues relating to
facilities development, board composition, pedagogy, program planning,
accounting, fundraising, exhibit design, evaluation, and a bunch of other
topics, have been addressed from many viewpoints.

None of them suggest that starting a new museum can be done "with little
work".
