I can think of two ways to get the information. If you go to the Menu Bar

tools > data analysis > (take Histograms from the pop up window)

The data analysis functions need to be "added" to Excel. The exact method
varies with the version of Excel. It's possible you may have left them
out and therefore missed them. There are a number of statistical functions
available under the data analysis.

Another approach would be to:

        sort the data
        Select the column of interest
        Select Subtotals from the Menu
        there are two pop up options the bottom one offers SUM
                instead chose COUNT
