Director of Fine Arts, Dallas Auction Gallery

For the Dallas Auction Gallery, our rapidly expanding Texas auction house
client, we are seeking a Director of Fine Arts.  The successful applicant
will lead the Fine Arts section of the Dallas Auction Gallery, developing
clients, obtaining consignments and growing both the profile and scope of
the department.  Duties include: source high-level works of art for 4-6
auctions annually with a focus on 20th Century and Contemporary work; create
and maintain client relationships; identify and generate new sources of
business; authenticate and research works; track developments and trends in
the art market; manage the auction schedule and related administrative and
logistical functions; train support staff; create detailed reports; attend
art fairs and other public arts & culture events; other duties as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience with a major
auction house or gallery; strong knowledge of international contemporary art
and related markets; a developed client list; and excellent organizational,
communications and networking skills.  BA in art history and a proven track
record in sales are essential; languages a plus. Some travel. Salary DOE and
excellent benefits.  An exciting opportunity for a self-motivating and
