And of course there are the Smithsonian's two underground museums on the
Mall in Washington, DC.

I imagine you'd like to learn of other underground and green storage 
facilities. Chicago's Field Museum recently opened a new wing. It
includes 
storage and public spaces with the storage not only underground but in 
turn-of-the-last-century landfill surrounded by a lake. I don't have a 
contact there but I would start by talking to their conservation staff.
