I remember visiting the New York Museum of Natural History and,
with the combination of entrance and special exhibition fees, having to
pay $18. to get in to both. Of course, this was New York, where a student
entrance ticket to the Whitney at that time (ca. 1995) cost $15.
However, the Met's minimum "contribution" to enter is .25
(cents) and there is no fee for special exhibitions.
