*JOB ANNOUNCEMENT*



*JOB TITLE:*  Archivist



*REPORTS TO:*  Executive Director



*SUMMARY OF POSITION: * Assist with inventorying, accessioning, cataloging,
and reformatting of the archival collections at the Homestake Adams
Research and Cultural Center, and making those collections accessible to
the public for research purposes.



*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

1.      Accession archival materials to include cataloging, tracking
locations, and entering data into one of several databases.

2.      Create finding aids and indexes.

3.      Identify materials requiring conservation.

4.      Reformat materials when necessary.

5.      Scan and reproduce historic photographs and documents.

6.      Respond to requests for information.

7.      Assist staff with locating materials for use in exhibits and for
research purposes.

8.      Assist with the production of publications.



*SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

1.      Assist with special programs sponsored by Deadwood History, Inc.

2.      Other duties as assigned.
