Two Positions: Furniture and Decorative Arts Specialist, Leslie Hindman
Auctioneers, Chicago, IL, and Naples, FL

 

For Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, our distinguished Chicago-based auction
house client, we are seeking to Specialists in Fine Furniture and Decorative
Arts in Chicago, IL, and Naples, FL locations,  The successful candidates
will consign and catalogue property and write and edit all related support
materials; research authenticity and provenance; review client inquiries to
determine salability; visit client homes and sites to review, document and
evaluate materials as necessary; assist with catalogue production; assist
auction house team with coordinating schedule of related auctions, including
determining layout, exhibition set-up, condition reports and client
interaction and support during sales; other duties as necessary.  The ideal
applicants will have at least 3-5 years' experience with furniture and/or
decorative arts at a major gallery or auction house, excellent research and
writing skills, and experience with appraisals. BA in art history with
preferred focus on furniture and superb communications, organizational and
team-playing skills required.  Competitive salary and benefits.  An
