The Florida Museum of Natural History and the Office of Development and
Alumni Affairs seek a fund raising professional who will serve as the
Director of Development for the Florida Museum of Natural History (FLMNH).
The FLMNH is the tenth largest natural history museum in the United States
with two main locations on the campus of the University of Florida; the
museum houses over 19 million objects in Dickinson Hall and reaches an
audience of over 1 million people each year at its new education and
exhibition center and through traveling exhibits.

The Director of Development is the major gift fund raiser for the FLMNH, and
as such, is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation,
solicitation and stewardship of the museum's major gift prospects. He/she
will serve as advisor to the Director of the FLMNH in fundraising matters
and coordinate development activities between the museum and the Office of
Development and Alumni Affairs.

The successful candidate will possess a master's degree in an appropriate
area of specialization or a bachelor's degree and at least two year of
related experience, three years of fund-raising experience preferred. Must
be a self-starter, detail oriented and an articulate communicator with
excellent writing, oral and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal
skills and a willingness to travel are essential. A valid driver's license
and good driving record are required. Compensation is negotiable and
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
