The Fairfield Historical Society seeks a resourceful, motivated and skilled museum professional to
fulfill the position of Project Registrar. The primary responsibility will be to coordinate and execute

month, IMLS grant-funded position, with a salary range in the mid to upper 30s. Position will
begin in early fall 2006.

Requirements: Five to seven years of relevant work experience, including preparing and packing
artifact collections for moving. Must be an organized, careful, and effective manager, able to

skills, flexibility, patience and the ability to train and supervise an entry-level Assistant Registrar
are key. Knowledge of handling techniques for a wide variety of object types, especially those
specific to textiles and costumes, is desirable. Knowledge of library cataloguing systems is a plus.
Normal ability to climb ladders and to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
