Annual Meeting in Birmingham, AL, on September 18-21. The deadline for
proposals is Friday, November 16. The theme is Turning Points: Ordinary
People, Extraordinary Change.  Visit the AASLH website for the full

Here are some tips for successful proposals:

1. Connect to the Theme

2. Don't be a show and tell session - give people something to take away

3. Have institutional and geographic diversity

4. Think outside the box - New ideas and learning from failures are
always helpful
