I think much depends upon what type of institution you mean. There are so
many variables:
Does the $300-500K include all income - or just specified categories?
Do they have permanent or temporary exhibits?
Do they function as a performance space?
Do they have a permanent collection, archive/library, etc.?
Do they do in-reach and/or outreach? What kind?
Do they have a gift shop and/or ancillary services?
Do they rent their space for outside events?
Do they have a "friends" group?
